Wedding saree inspiration for to-be brides

Wedding saree inspiration for to-be brides

Indian wedding rituals date back at least five thousand years, according to Vedic traditions. The cultural value and auspiciousness of a wedding are intrinsically related to the “Muhurta Pattu” which the families of the to-be brides and grooms, collectively shop on an auspicious day and time. Each outfit in the wedding trousseau is handpicked to render meaning to various ceremonies like nichyadartham, malai matral, panigraham and a lot more. Through our blog series, “Brides of Sundari”,  we feature our stunning brides who serve major bridal goals.

Devasenah and Ravi

After 2 years of courtship, Devasenah and Ravi got engaged at Chicago airport, where they met for the first time. They finally decided to have a traditional engagement, a few days before their wedding and flew to India. For the ceremony, Devasenah wore this gorgeous green Borderless Silk Saree adorned with minimalistic gold zari motifs. As it was an intimate ceremony, she kept her look simple and accessorized with gold jewellery. Surrounded by her nearest and dearest, she got engaged once again to the love of her life.

Madhu and Vimal

A few years back, Madhu purchased a saree from us for her friend’s wedding. She decided that when she gets married, her wedding trousseau will be from Sundari Silks. For her muhurtham she chose an Ivory Shade Kanjivaram Silk Saree with a contrasting pink traditional border. She teamed the saree with a heavily embellished embroidered blouse which elevated the entire look. She tied the knot with the man of her dreams in a minimalistic yet beautiful temple wedding

Sharmada and Aravind

In Indian marriages, the wedding celebration is not just about building a relationship between the couple but bringing the two families together in nurturing the alliance. One of the joyous ceremonies which took place at Sharmada and Aravind’s wedding is the oonjal ceremony where the womenfolk from both families participated by singing oonjal songs and warding evil sight of the couple. For the Kanya dhanam, Sharmada wore this lush blue 9-yard Madisar which she paired with a golden blouse. She looked radiant with natural makeup and traditional jewellery to complete the look.
